From Magazine Cover to City Streets

Designed the large-format outdoor creative for Good Housekeeping's Christmas campaign, adapting the festive magazine cover into a series of Transport for London (TfL) bus supersides displayed across London throughout the Christmas season.

The campaign centred around the Christmas issue featuring Jamie Oliver and Jools Oliver, extending the publication beyond the newsstand into a high-impact outdoor advertising format. The challenge was to retain the warmth and familiarity of the magazine cover while rethinking the composition for a fast-moving, large-scale environment.

Every element was carefully refined to ensure the design remained bold, legible and visually engaging when viewed from a distance or in motion, while staying true to Good Housekeeping's established editorial identity.

Key responsibilities

  • Adapted the Christmas magazine cover into a large-format outdoor campaign.

  • Redesigned the layout for TfL bus superside specifications.

  • Refined typography, imagery and composition for maximum impact.

  • Ensured readability across varying viewing distances and urban environments.

  • Prepared artwork for large-format print production.

Editorial Design at Scale

Transforming an editorial cover into outdoor advertising required more than simply enlarging the artwork. The design was carefully reworked to suit the scale and pace of its environment, balancing visual impact with clarity while preserving the character of the original publication. The result was a festive campaign that brought the Good Housekeeping Christmas issue to life across London's streets, extending the magazine's reach through a striking large-format print execution.
